Esthétiquement c'est un sans faute. Les micros font le taf même si par la suite je compte les changer. Les mécaniques à blocage font aussi le café. Franchement pour le prix je suis étonnamment surpris.

Just unbelievable
RoyMattblack 23.10.2024
I've been playing for well over 50 years and currently own several high-end guitars - Gibby LP, 2 x Fender Strats, a genuine Burns Marvin, PRS...
This HB is just mind boggling.
I'll be honest, I bought it purely on the looks, not expecting too much from a £160 guitar.
How wrong could I be!
First, the finish is better than my Gibby or my Strats. Only the Burns beats it there.
The sound is just amazing.
Also, the build quality is way up there with the best.
Now the gripes...
Loose, floppy dangling trem arm. No way to position it where you want it.
If you're using it in a solo, you either have to hold onto it all the time, or go 'looking' for it when you want it.
Then there's the knobs.
The entire guitar LOOKS like a mega-money instrument - except for the plastic bargain bin knobs.
Not a big deal though as I replaced them with polished chrome metal ones.
It now LOOKS like the guitar it is emulating.
I'm Suhr you know what I mean...
A superb instrument I'll be using A LOT!

D
Great guitar with minor design issues.
Deevee 22.05.2026
Why did I buy this? Because I already have the FBB version and it has a great neck and I wanted another guitar with the same neck specs.

But there are a couple of problems. Firstly the back tremolo cover is just
made wrongly on these, the access hole does not permit access to the string holes in the tremelo block, so has to be either enlarged by cutting it or removed altogether for restringing.

Second, the tremelo block at the rear of the guitar beneath the trem cover is painted black, and the holes for the strings are lower than the top of the tremolo block which makes actually seeing the string holes difficult compared to standard chrome or unpainted blocks.

Also, the volume pots is stiffer to turn than the tone pot. It's the same on the FBB version I have. It would be nice if the two pots were better matched.

And surely this is a flame burst "Green" guitar, as opposed to "Blue"?? Or am I colour blind??

A couple of tuners were initially very stiff and hard to turn. One remained hard to turn and I emailed Thomann about this and they've very helpfully sent a replacement.

The guitar has an excellent finish and is put together very well.

The neck specs and dimensions suit me perfectly, frets are very good, no buzzing etc even after lowering the action.

It is light weight and the tremelo arm set up with the Allen key to tighten is far superior to the screw in type where the threads always get damaged.

Sound, fine, it's all subjective and unless you're a purist, it can be modified via whatever it's going to be plugged in to!

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm ranting negatively about this guitar, because I'm not, it's a very good guitar and would fully recommend it.

For €199 you can't go wrong.

G
Almost perfect!
Gabell 25.03.2025
The finish on the ST- Modern I received was as good as any guitar I have purchased in the last 50 years, including higher end Godin and G & L guitars, and with locking tuners and a split coil facility as standard inclusions, the value for money is excellent. The only, slight disappointment was the very slightly “ brittle” tone of the pickups when pushed with overdrive, but it still holds its own when compared to most of the Squier ranges, from the debut, sonic, affinity and almost on par with the classic vibe range at twice the price!.
