Gibson Les Paul Studio Session TEB

Elle remplace mon Epiphone Custom AW qui m'accompagne depuis des années (et que j'avais upgradée avec des micros Seymour Duncan). Je voulais retrouver des micros splittables : mission accomplie. Les micros Gibson sont d'une propreté sonore vraiment remarquable.

Petit détail : le petit rond du sélecteur de micros est fourni mais non installé. Ce n’est pas bien grave, mais un montage d’usine aurait été apprécié.

Concernant la housse, j’ai d’abord été un peu surpris de ne pas avoir un étui rigide vu le tarif de l’instrument. Mais après examen, la housse fournie est de très bonne qualité (vendue seule 149 €), donc rien à redire de ce côté-là.

Le vrai point fort selon moi : la beauté de l’instrument. J’ai opté pour une finition TEB, qui change vraiment d’apparence selon la lumière et l’angle de vue. Un rendu magnifique, encore plus impressionnant en vrai qu’en photo ou en vidéo.

Les mécaniques ont une finition sombre et élégante, loin du chrome brillant classique — un vrai plus esthétique.

En résumé : très bonne guitare, je recommande sans hésiter.
Et comme toujours avec Thomann : livraison soignée et rapide, ça mérite d’être souligné !

After buying the guitar, I am very happy with it.
The guitar is basically an upgraded Les Paul Studio with an amazing top, neck binding, and some other goodies.

Still a lot of tweaking and trials for a proper feedback on the pickups but as starters, the push-pull options are quite interesting and many different sounds can be achieved, even the phase mode can be something though not really my thing. Playability is gorgeous even if a bit thinner neck to what I am used to so really nice to have a more slim neck on one of the guitars. The various combinations make this a real versatile guitar.

Out of the box playability was quite good. Neck a bit too flat but no buzzes. The tailpiece is as low as it gets so after the full cleaning and string change, I'll adjust it properly where needed. Still just discovering

Regarding the finish there were two tiny little scratches. Nothing to complaint nor return it over, and actually hardly noticeable so these, luckily only start giving uniqueness to this guitar.

I took the pickguard of immediately and the top area screw and guard left of course a bit of a messy area but nothing I cannot fix by filling the holes and leveling a bit since I hope I will not go through finish. Fingers crossed this works well.
Not a challenge to have a couple of beauty marks,
Once unboxed, I took a picture of it and due to light angle, it was almost a premonitory image on how this guitar could age and WOW...

Overall very satisfied. A pity the pickguard is installed, this should be optional

Anyhow great guitar. Find it a bit overpriced for a Studio but the top is amazing and other smaller details and finish make them worth.

Honeyburst was my second choice together with dark purple but don't like the natural back on Honey and have a gorgeous HB DIY les Paul I finished purple, so the choice was clear.
For many though the Honey burst has a little extra surprise that together with quite cheaper price can help with the decision...the pseudo body binding-visual effect binding. Have not seen live but looks like a nice lucky extra due to finish edge of body and top

Meine erste richtige Gibson. Das erste mal so viel Geld für ein Instrument. Seit ich ein kleiner Junge war, wollte ich eine echte Gibson les Paul haben. Nun war es soweit. Angekommen, ausgepackt und wow. Richtig schönes Teil.

Dann der erste Blick ins Detail und …. Die Kopfplatte ist am Hals gebrochen. Wirklich? Nagut. Support kontaktiert und gleich wird mir ein Ersatz angeboten. Cool.

Dann schaue ich mir die Gitarre weiter an.

Binding ganz schön wackelig am Übergang zwischen Korpus und Hals angebracht. Oh Mann.

Ich greife den Hals und merke auch das Binding hier ist seltsam. Einen halben Millimeter tiefer als der Rest vom Hals.

Nun ist der Traum geplatzt. Ich gebe das Teil zurück. Wie kann man so etwas zu diesem Preis verkaufen? Meine Made in China Epiphone Les Paul Custom ist dieser hier um Welten voraus. Schade eigentlich, die Gitarre ist wirklich eine Augenweide. Mir ist klar das nicht immer alles perfekt sein kann aber ab einem gewissen Preis erwarte ich nahezu ein super Instrument.

Was ich hier bekommen habe ist einfach nur traurig. Für 350 Euro hätte ich das Teil behalten. Nicht aber für 1900!!!€
