perfect guitar
Philisac 31.01.2023
This is the 700 E model, pricewise between the cheap and the really expensive ones. I had to wait a while to get it and I am glad the wait is over: it has become my favourite guitar and I have too many, Gretsch, Iba, Dano, Gibson, Fender, etc. This guitar ticks all the right boxes: great gig bag before you open it, then the looks, the flawless paintwork, the perfect fret edges, the smooth satin neck ... and light too. The sound is ... awesome. The clean is crystalline, and the guitar takes pedals really well. The boost is really effective, I cannot find any flaw after several months. The potties are silent, no shreek. No buzz either, perfect insulation.
I play it with a tube Fender through a Boss GT100, everything works just as I like it. I am in love. Would be curious to check the difference with the pro model, because this is already above many much more expensive models I own and have tried from other brands.
I have several other yamahas, including the silent nylon and steel string ones, and they are all of perfect quality. This Revstar is a gem, I heartily recommend trying it (it is unfortunately not so common in guitar shops close to my place, but a blind buy over Thomann will not disappoint). MUST HAVE.

I'm Blown Away
Kevin L 04.03.2024
First off, I am not in any way a pro or person to give in depth reviews. I am a simple covid-era self taught nobody. I got addicted to guitars once I started playing a bit. I have usually bought Epi's, but went by chance with this Yamaha. I have an APX 700ii 12 string western Yamaha, but thought, OK, I'll try this one. Here's my unprofessional take:
Well packed in a padded gig-bag. Tools and a manual included.
WHAT??? In tune out of the box????
The finish is flawless. The tuners are quite sensitive so that only a very minor twist moves the strings miles. JK...Knobs have just enough resistence to keep them in place. Push/Pull mid boost...incredible.
There is absolutely nothing wrong IMHO with this guitar.
It sounds incredible in any of the switch positions. It really emphasizes pedals. FUZZ....wow, this thing will fuzz you and your neighbors out of town. It really chugs. Clean, dirty, no matter, a superior sound.
My only work to set it up was to raise the neck pickup. A few minor tweaks on the bridge PU and I was playing within minutes. Stays in tune, perfectly intonated, feels great. The matt/satin finish on the neck feels great.
I'll say, for 800 bucks, this is a bargain. I really can't say anything bad about it. My only regret....I maybe should have bought the green one. But this blue is cool too.
OH...and Elixir strings, stainless steel jumbo frets. Just perfect for me.

BE READY FOR A FRET JOB
life is too short to take it seriously 19.03.2026
on an otherwise nice instrument,
which is annoying at least to have to dismantle the cute guitar.
and a shame for Yamaha for selling an 800 eur unplayable instrument.
Hard to imagine that a fret job at the factory in Indonesia would make it
cost prohibitive.
