Seymour Duncan SANT P90 B BK

In one word, the SD Antiquities are phenomenal. I've installed these on a Harley Benton CST and I thought the original pickups were good, but I wasn't sure how much the tone would improve with other pickups. Well, turns out it can. A lot.
The CST is now one of the few guitars that I have that work equally well through both my H&K Tubemeister, as well as an Engl Ironball (I'm only talking about lead channel here with everything at 12 o'clock). On the H&K, it's a really sweet kind of overdrive with fantastic harmonics, great sustain and it's really sensitive to picking dynamics. Great for blues and such. On the Engl, the tone is considerably different and turns to something more like a Joe Satriani type tone. It sounds a bit thicker and smoother, it's somewhat less pick sensitive (unless you manipulate the volume control), but in both cases, it sounds absolutely fantastic.
Still not sure whether I'll switch to a thicker sounding bridge pickup, but I think I've found my new favorites. Well done, Seymour Duncan!

ich besitze eine Gibson SG Special von 1966.
Diese bekam ich in recht desolatem Zustand - nichts war mehr original.
Aber, und das ist sehr selten, der Neck war ok, kein Bruch.
Nachdem ich mir alte original Parts wie Tremolo und Mechaniken besorgt hatte, musste auch ein Satz P 90 her.
Leider findet man original 66er nur in den USA und
die Preise dafür liegen jenseits von Gut und Böse.
Hier fand ich nach einigem Suchen die SD Antiquitys.
Damit man diese verwenden kann, musste jedoch noch eine Modifikation vorgenommen werden.
Aus dem Zubehörbereich habe ich zwei P90 Grundplatten für Pickguard montage bestellt und die SD?s umgebaut.
In der SG sind die Antiquities einfach eine Wucht.
Das P90 "knurren" und "sägen" macht einfach nur Spass.
Die Antiquities sind meine Empfehlung für echten Vintagesound!
