Very nice instrument but...

This is a beautiful instrument with a very nice sound. I like it. However, the action was clearly out of specifications : 4 mm for E1 and 5 mm for E6. The saddle was obviously too high. I noticed this at first sight. I had to fix this myself by cautiously removing 2 millimeters from the bottom of the saddle. And I guess I'll have to remove a little bit more. For an instrument at this price level belonging to Höfner's Master Series, this is totally unexpected.

Thomann were responsive but all they could do was to suggest a return. No time for that. I contacted the customer service at Höfner 3 weeks ago for advice and I'm still waiting for an answer. Also disappointing.
