It is safer not to order a hand-made cello from thomann. Please think about this. I ordered this cello with an expensive case and asked if they would kindly put it inside. No such luck. They said that due to volume of deliveries, they cannot heed packing requests.
The cello arrived very broken, in a flimsy cardboard box with zero padding. Yes - none, at all, on a €3000 cello. It had a full crack across the front, a loose alma, and more.
The empty case was right next to it in a separate box. It had more padding than the cello!
No apology from thomann, just robotic replies with no promise they would refund me for their oversight. We waited 2 weeks with anxiety, wondering if we'd been scammed or not. To their credit, they did refund me later, without notice. Poor customer service, but not terrible.
It seems they just don't care about musical instruments at all. Check the Conrad gotz cello reviews. Another Spanish customer with a broken cello, also this year.
They wouldn't even let us return it in the case, to prevent further damage to this beautiful instrument.
Do yourself and the world a favour, and go to a real shop where they care.
