First thing I do when I pick up a Strat is reach for that bridge, middle pickup combination, to find out how she quacks; and you get that Mark Knopfler tone, that the master himself would reach for but, no hum. The neck pickup on it's own gives to that fruity, soulful Hendrix type lead, and even when you crank things with an OD pedal; still no hum. They maybe sold as hot sounding pickups; but you don't loose any of that bell like chime when playing it clean. The only drawback is they are deeper than standard Fender pickups; I had to get the Dremel out and deepen the routes, so I could set them low enough.
