Utilisé pour Booster un SM7B avant de rentrer dans une Focusrite.
Je n'ai jamais testé de vrai préamp donc je ne peux pas comparer mais je suis environ à 1/4 sur le préamp de la carte son donc ça fait le taff.
Certains parlent de souffle mais je n'ai pas ce problème.
Pour la qualité de fabrication il ne faudra pas s'amuser à débrancher et rebrancher car je doute que ça tienne longtemps.

Surprise
Cette merveille couplée à un smbeta57 pour la flute traversière et sur scène donne un très bon résultat, son détaillé, plein, timbré, coloré mais pas trop et nécessaire,rajout de gain vraiment surprenant pour un si petit objet. On dit du transistor germanium qu'il est instable, ... Ce fabricant semble contrôler ce problème.

Je ne sais pas trop si ça fait une différence
Je m'en sert parce que je l'ai, mais, honnêtement, je ne suis pas convaincu qu'il y est vraiment une telle différence avec ou sans. Sur micro dynamique ou sur un ruban pas cher, je ne suis pas scotché au mur par la différence acoustique.

Indispensable pour les micros à faible niveau de sortie
Utilisé avec un SM7B sur une Apollo Twin, cet accessoire est indispensable pour donner un peu de gain pour attaquer le preamp.
Pas de souffle, ne colore pas trop le son. Parfait!

That tool !
I tried this Germanium version of the fethead after owning the regular one since decades.
I was curious about the difference, and we tested both in turns on a very nice vocal mic with a female singer.
The difference is very very noticeable.
In my opinion, the original fethead is really perfect for a very true to microphone gain boost. I use it mostly for acoustic guitar micing, singing of course, and sometimes for cab micing on electric guitar, if the engineer can't seem to get enough room feel in there, as u can get further away from the speaker and still get some punch from it.
Now back to the germanium version, this one really shines for vocals in my opinion, as it colours and brightens the sound, a lot ! And that's mostly not what we're looking for for micing cabs and speakers, as it may get way too trebly.
That said, for voices, it seems to add a lot of definition to the sound and definitely a lot of treble, which could be too much for some, but you can always apply hpf to it during the mix. Which leaves you with a lot of singing dynamics, punch and better mic room control.
Both versions do exactly what they are meant for, A Supertool in my opinion !!

Parfait pour amplifier un micro
Je l'utilise avec un Heil PR30 branché sur une scarlett solo. Très bonne amplification du signal avec un son chaleureux.

Simple et efficace !
Reçu dans un petit tube en carton, protégé par un petit sachet en tissus. J’étais un peu sceptique à l’achat, mais une fois branché : wahoooo ! Le son de mon MD 441 U a changé du tout au tout ! Je recommande vivement !
