Micro WP-1X Rumberger

Ce micro est très intéressant : un artisan de Strasbourg me l'a installé dans mon bec de saxophone alto, et j'en retire les meilleurs résultats, notamment pour le son qui n'est pas du tout altéré, et pour la qualité du signal, qui permet de travailler avec des pédales d'effet (distorsion, wah-wah) de façon très satisfaisante. Vraiment une belle réussite !

Rumberger WP-1X Clarinet Pickup Rocks

This internal mouthpiece pickup is a fantastic invention. It picks up all the sounds of a clarinet without the cumbersome dual microphone approach. The pickup, being inside the mouthpiece, is immune to feedback, and all the subtlety of one's music comes alive.

The pickup has a thin lightweight cable that does not get in the way, and the connectors seem to be of the highest quality (I say as an electrical engineer).

I followed the YouTube mounting instructions and had no trouble with installation, but if you are not a woodworker or otherwise mechanically skilled then having a skilled technician do the mounting for you is advisable.

This pickup is really an amazing.

Perfect Clarinet Mic

The microphone works great. It gets great tone in all registers regardless of fingering or volume and you don't need to fiddle with a mic position or any feedback issues. I did need to cut the high frequencies to remove breath noises, but once that was done it sounds perfect.

The only negative is that I had to buy a tap to install the mic as it is a rare size. But all in all, it was worth it for the ease or use and tone

Awesome for any sort of band setting

I chose this over other rumberger pickups because I didn't want to drill a hole in to my vintage Leblanc bass clarinet. I had it installes into a Vandoren b50 bass clarinet mouthpiece.
The sound is clear and true to life. Every soundguy I've worked with has praised it for its ease of mixing and lack of noise. Works awesome with audio effects - high gain sound don't give feedback very easily.
Took one star away from features, because it requires phantom power, so for jam session I carry a pedal that supplies it with 48v.
In a live setting this has reduced the time for sound checks dramatically and compared to the usual, dual sm57 setup the soundguys use it's night and day in terms of ease of use and fredom on the stage.
