It's an insert cable
Why 3 stars? Plastic shells and I really dislike the molded retention blob of rubber making for a tricky repair if you wanted/ needed to repair it. The solder joints are nicely done and the core insulation appears to not have gotten overheated at all during assembly. Certainly not the best cable stock one can buy; but it functions.
I originally purchased insert cable to route my guitar rack rig together and I mistakenly purchased TRS inserts rather than mono Y cables. No big deal; I will use them in my studio. Since purchasing these cables, I learned to make my own cables to wire up my rack and understand much better the differences in quality of materials and craftsmanship of assembling the materials.
