Pretty well rounded and quality bass
casualbassist 10.01.2026
The basic finish quality was spot on, no sticking fret edges or weird glue spots (electronics work as expected). However, even though the bass comes with the zero fret the E and B strings were not filed low enough so the E string was actually rattling against the zero fret and you could slip a receipt under between the B string and zero fret (easy to fix however and most basses usually come with a pretty high set nut to allow for some fine tuning either way, so 4/5). For comparison, I think the quality is actually better or on par with some other basses I've tried (Dingwall, Strandberg).

Sound is good for that modern metal kind of tone and that's what I was looking to do. Additionally, the bass can confidently hold a G#0 for the low string and that's basically what I got it for (that's where the 37 inch scale really shines, with the zero fret which still further allows better intonation at the nut).

Features 4/5 since I feel like a coil split might have been nice to allow for some more J bass like tones.

The 35 to 37 fan feels better to me than a 34 to 37. If a 34 to 37 feels too drastic this might feel okay.
