I've been excited to get my hands on this guitar. The wizard neck on other Ibanez models were too thin for my taste and overall I find the neck on this guitar suitable for me.
The neck has very good fret work and is smooth. Also the roasted neck smells awesome. With relative low-ish action ( 1.5mm low E, 1mm high E ) there are no fret buzz, from top to bottom of the neck, each note is clear and resonant.
The oval C neck just feels great, its not too thick, maybe twice as thick as wizard neck. It looks beautiful too.
The pickups are nice, I enjoy the single coil mode, its warm, rich and pleasant.
The finish is very good and consistent with no defect.
The guitar is light enough for comfortable playing in standing position.
Although a great guitar, mine came with some minor issues. The bridge pickup is slighty caved in on one side toward the bridge itself and is not parallel to the strings. It requires some foam under the pickup to keep it straight, seems that the springs holding the pickup are excreting uneven force. This could happen with direct mounted pickups, its just pitty that it passed the QC as prestige line is known for better quality. I may send it for adjustment. The backplate which covers tremello springs and electronics has many scratches and is not covered in plastic, which must be the case when the guitar comes out of factory. This is the second time I am experiencing this, which makes me wonder.
I think for the price, it delivers. Overall, I enjoy the AZ2402, hope it gets better quality control.
