Fluid Audio FX80 V2

Bought a pair of these to asses for use in an atmos setup before purchasing the other 9 speakers.

As I need so many speakers I was looking for something that's good bang for buck, on that front I think these are unbeatable.

Sound stage and detail on these is amazing, I'm hearing lots of things on tracks I know well that I've never noticed before.

The phantom centre from these is something else, on certain tracks the vocal sounds like it's coming from a centre speaker.

The only down sides I can mention are is that they have a very slight hiss when on, this is noticeable when used as nearfields, but as they are 8" I'll be putting them more mid field in the near future, at that distance I probably won't even hear the hiss.

Would have been great if they also had a 120hz hi pass, would have made things a little easier for bass management +LFE setup in atmos, but just a minor niggle.

I've now picked up a FC10S sub to go with them, not that it's needed as there's plenty of low end on these but it does give me the extra 20 to 40 hz for full range.

Definitely buying more to complete the atmos setup, will most likely opt for FX50s for the height speakers, maybe some of the others too.

If you are on the fence give them a go, surprising what level of quality is available at this price range.

I couldn't resist picking up a pair on the pre-order price and I am not disappointed!

The sound is, unsurprisingly (but not detrimentally) similar to your typical 8" inexpensive monitors like the rokit 8s/m-audio BX8s etc, however they are showing me things in my tracks that I haven't heard before even on my larger Adam monitors, which is very interesting to say the least. They are naturally on the warmer side and the low end is a tad vague, but quite frankly there's nothing an EQ can't fix.

Because they're coaxial as well, they are small units which will easily fit on a desk and the punch they pack is very impressive. They have a good selection of quick adjustments on back too!

Honestly? For 360 quid a pair, just get them, they will not disappoint!
