Nice guitar for the money, but be wary of body finishing
Michael Thompson 900 11.11.2024
Overall very nice guitar. Will require a bit of setting up, but Jazzmasters are notorious for needing a bit of tweaking straight from the factory. The craftsmanship is very high quality.

One thing to be mindful of is the body finish. The guitar I received looks nothing like the picture. The MIJ quilt top effects kind of look like ripples of water or waves, whereas mine just looks like a transparent wood grain effect. As a result, my guitar looks more like a blue sunburst with natural wood grain than any kind of deliberate finish. This isn’t the end of the world for me, and is still a unique finish, but beware as I’m sure many will be interested in this guitar primarily for the finish, and if the quilt top effect is what you desire, you’d be disappointed if you received my guitar. Happy to load pictures if permitted

I like it, although the quilted maple tinted body design really doesnt look like in the picture
Anti2211 08.03.2025
As ive written in the title and also seen in the one only other review besides mine, my jazzmaster really doesnt look as good as in the picture. But it really isnt too bad its just a different type of look. In the picture it looks almost like some kind of lacker design but in reality mine looks more like one shade of green/blue tinted wood with darker and lighter spots and a burst fade in another more darker blueish hue. At first i was a little dissapointed (i woulnd have been if it wasnt for the price) but after like two days i started to really love the looks. Ive been playing guitar for a little over a year and i wanted to make a long time investment and i may be biased but i think it worked out. The neck feels amazing, best ive ever felt. The whammy bar works very good i can get about 2 to 3 notes down but no notes up, which i wasnt sure about before. Only very light pressure (in contrast to my ibanez strat) is required to make use of of trem and tuning stability seems very good.
Pickups sound really good, bright but balanced (not as bright as a fender tele or strat). For me it works very well for higain and all kinds of effects. Theres no (for me at least) unnessecary rhym control circuit or however this is called. I love the feel of the finish on the back of the neck and the overall size and shape of the neck. Some people might find it to small but i have unusually small hands, which might be the reason i think i like it so much. As ive said i might be biased but i love it looks wise, playability, and sound!
