Boosting my strat (USA manufactured)

I was looking for a boost in pickups for my Fender (USA) strat and my eye fell on the EMG SL20 Steve Lukather pickup set. Basically for versatility and more bite, more drive, but without straying too far from the original strat feel.

I must say I like the set very much in above mentioned respects. It performs very subtally if needed, very crisp without getting trebley, and the overall depth of the sound (a bit more mid and low in comparison to the original pickups) makes the guitar sound more 'mature' in a way. It still sounds 100% strat, no doubt about that, but there's an edge to it now that can lift the sound to a more pleasing performance when playing introvertly AND when playing loud and heavy (hey, I got an EMG humbucker now when I need it :)

Thank you Thomann for getting this product for me -that wasn't easy, since I needed a lefty version of the setup. Great job, as always.

Very good sounding and versatile pickup set!!!

I bought this pickguard for my lefty schecter Nick Johnston as i didn't like the sound of the single coils and the humbucker was too little output for my taste and wanted something quiet for the singles and more aggresive for the bridge pickup!!! This set accomplishes everything from jazz to metal extremely good, every position is beyond usable and stays dead quiet under heavy distortion. You can get many sounds out of this set and tte quality of EMG is astonishing!! Keep in mind that the pots are also reversed and properly logarithmic for leftys which is great consider that you get to use the volume and tone in every position and actually have a response combate to right handed pots that the companies rewire in reverse!!!! Highly recommend for leftys that want to improve the sound of their guitar and also love Steve's sound and Toto!!!!
