Fantastic DAW, confusing licensing strategy

Studio One Pro 7 is an outstanding DAW for professional music production. The workflow is intuitive, the tools are robust, and the interface strikes a great balance between being user-friendly and feature-packed. It handles everything from mixing to mastering with ease, making it a reliable choice for serious musicians and producers.

However, the recent naming and licensing changes are a headache. The "Pro+" addition feels unnecessarily complicated, and the distinction between perpetual licenses and subscription tiers is less clear than it should be. I find the constant renaming strategy and the bundling of features into subscriptions rather frustrating.

Overall, the software is excellent, but Presonus approach to licenses and product tiers could use some streamlining.

I mostly use Studio One Pro 7 for mastering, and it’s become my main tool for finishing tracks. The layout is clear, the workflow is quick, and the built-in tools (especially the mastering/project workflow, metering, and export options) make revisions and final deliveries painless. It stays stable even with heavy chains—EQ, compression, saturation, limiting, analyzers—without feeling sluggish. I also like how easy it is to keep multiple versions and bounce out exactly what I need. Overall it feels polished, modern, and genuinely professional. Highly recommended.
