Polyend Play+

I’ve been looking at the original Play since it was released and decided to take the plunge with the Play+ on release.

Pros: lots of fun, mostly intuitive to use, lots of visual feedback, sounds fantastic, quick to create full projects, minimal menu diving, perform mode is amazing for on the fly variation, straightforward to integrate with other gear, great build quality

Cons: some features seemingly hidden or hard to find (likely user error), loading projects can feel long (10-30seconds), per project memory fills up fast, knob bank would benefit from some colour variation as it can be easy to get lost

Only been using this for a week or so but very happy with my purchase so far. I had issues with the unit crashing initially which has not happened since updating to the 1.0.1 firmware, and also had some frustration with switching functions by accidentally double tapping knobs which was easy to disable. One thing that feels like it’s missing is the ability to save different perform effects per track but it’s not a major issue. Overall it’s a fantastic unit with a ton of potential, worth the money
