Marcus Bonna Soft Straight Mute Trumpet

My experience serves to illustrate the pitfalls of buying musical instruments and accessories on line without trying them first. This is a perfectly good, well made mute which plays in tune but just didn't suit my needs tonally. It has little "presence" and is too long to use with a plunger, an effect that I like to incorporate in small group playing.

Having voiced my disappointment, I sold it on to a colleague who seems quite happy with it and I'm getting closer to the sound I want with a less expensive item
