Great looks, toy-like sound

This was my first experience with the Kala brand. Bought this over a Flight NUC-310.

The looks are stunning on this uke with the flamed maple. However, I instantly noticed some flaws on the finishing like a stain splatter right on the middle on the body and a small nick near the neck joint. It showed me that QC wasn't great but not a big deal.

After tuning it to try it, I noticed a LOT of fret buzzing. The sustain is not great either and the harmonics completely fade out. The whole thing basically sounded like a toy.

Overall, I really am not happy with my first experience with the Kala brand. On the other hand, I tried the Flight and really can't point out anything wrong for the price (especially considering it was cheaper than the Kala). It really goes to show that looks are not everything.
