Fluid Audio FX50 V2

I recently purchased the Fluid Audio FX50 V2 monitors as I was in the market for some 'uncoloured' near field monitors.

All the reviews that I read described the sound that these monitors produced as being 'true', 'uncoloured' and 'flat', so, I decided to give these monitors a try and purchased them with the Fluid Audio DS 5 monitor stands.

WOW, and even more WOW...........was my first impression!

I couldn't believe just how amazing these small self powered monitors sounded, and, coming from such a small cabinet.

The stereo separation was absolutely brilliant and I was hearing instruments and their notation that I hadn't previously heard with my more larger and more expensive speakers.

I played some of my studio music as well as some pre recorded music and both sounded so true, flat and uncoloured that I've since started using the Fluid FX50's more than my other sets of speakers.

When my fellow producers came round, I played them some of my compositions on the Fluid FX50's with them thinking the sound was coming out of my bigger mid field monitors, and when I told them that the sound was coming out of the Fluid FX50's, they were left gobsmacked at the BIG sound coming from them.

So far, everyone that I've played these speakers to have all said that their next set of speakers will be the Fluid FX50's or their bigger brother; the Fluid FX80's.

I can genuinely state that the Fluid FX50's are not only well built and look quality, but they sound absolutely brilliant for their size.

Add to that is their price point which I personally believe is almost an under-price for such effective monitors, but I'm not complaining because value for money, they must be one of, if not THE best sounding near field monitors on the market.

In conclusion, I can only thoroughly recommend these monitors to anyone who's in the market for nearfield monitors.

I've used countless 5" monitors and these are among the best i've tried. Imaging and soundstage is excellent and since it's a coaxial design mid and specially high frequency response is very tight and focused. Bass is there but falls quickly below 100Hz, so if it's your only monitor i'd suggest adding a Sub-Woofer, but as a second pair of monitors they're just great. These aren't very loud and can distort pretty easily, especially with bass-heavy material, but at reasonable distance and volume they should be fine for most users. Highly recommended together with de DS5 stands.
