The worst experience I've ever had with a VST
This is honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had with a VST.
The concept is great, and I actually really like the sound library and the idea behind the plugin. But in practice, almost everything feels unnecessarily complicated and unintuitive. Nothing works the way I naturally expect it to.
I’ve spent around hours trying to understand it. I’ve read the manual, and I’ve even used AI to help me interpret the documentation, yet I constantly run into another problem or another behavior that I simply cannot understand.
At some point, I stopped feeling like I was making music and started feeling like I was troubleshooting software.
There are so many controls and possibilities, but the workflow is not intuitive at all. Even basic things that should be straightforward require you to understand a very specific logic behind the plugin.
Maybe this is a matter of personal workflow, but I have used many VSTs and I have never had this much difficulty simply getting the software to behave naturally.
I cannot recommend Playbeat 4. The idea is excellent, but the execution and workflow have made this one of the most frustrating plugins I have ever used.
